About Us

Sri Renga Kalakshetra was born from a purpose — to preserve India’s ancient art while caring for people and the planet. What began as admiration for these timeless traditions soon grew into a journey of learning and connection.

We travelled across India, exploring traditional art and craft practices in their native communities, where these traditions are still lived and practised. Each region revealed its own language — earth based materials, colours from natural pigments, proportions guided by Shilpa Shastra, and techniques refined over centuries.

Community & Craft

Our work begins with the people who keep traditions alive. We spend time with skilled artisans learning their techniques, understanding the care behind each material, and witnessing centuries-old methods passed down through generations. From sacred geometry to carving, sculpting, and natural dyeing, every process is deliberate, mindful, and rooted in heritage.

These communities are the true stewards of living traditions. They work with materials sourced from the earth, prepare dyes from natural pigments, and practise art in harmony with the environment. Every stroke, carving, and weave is guided by centuries-old knowledge, intentionality, and rhythm. By learning from their ways and honouring their methods, we help keep these authentic, handcrafted practices alive, ensuring they continue to flourish naturally, grounded in heritage and respect for the planet.

Traditional art, we discovered, is not merely visual — it is disciplined, intentional, and inseparable from people, culture, and the environment. Preserving these practices in their original form became central to our path.

Tradition in Contemporary Living

Our mission grew naturally: to bring these timeless, sustainable practices into contemporary living, without compromising authenticity. Every piece is handcrafted, eco-conscious, and ethically sourced, blending ancient artistry with modern aesthetics. Each creation respects its original identity, supports sustainable livelihoods, and carries the wisdom of generations, allowing tradition to live meaningfully in the present.

At Sri Renga Kalakshetra, tradition is not frozen in time. It lives — in pooja rooms, living spaces, weddings, and daily rituals. Every creation carries the story of communities, care for nature, and inherited wisdom, making ancient art feel relevant, personal, and enduring.
